With this volume, the series of Kaleidoscope booklets leaves the songs with a close connection to the church year and the Christian feasts and turns to songs for the times of day - i.e. songs for morning, noon and evening. The selection includes the best-known hymns from the main part of the current Protestant hymnal, but also makes sure that the songs are ecumenically known and used - after all, it is always about the basic sensitivities of Christians in the course of the day, regardless of denominational ties.
The principles of the series, as laid down in the foreword to the Advent booklet and further developed in subsequent issues, remain unchanged with regard to the booklet presented here. This includes the fact that the song arrangements - especially the more detailed ones, such as EG 450 or EG 482 - can also be arranged into independent chorale suites and regrouped in the process. They are also intended to encourage the use of the songs beyond the church service in other congregational events, but also in teaching.
New authors from the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandenburg-Sleschische Oberlausitz are Björn O. Wiede, Potsdam, and Christoph D. Ostendorf, Berlin. [...]
